Serving plays an essential role at Lifepointe. We believe every Christ-follower is called to be the hands and feet of Christ, both within and outside the church walls. You can begin volunteering at any time, whether you’ve been part of Lifepointe for 1 week or 1 year! As you get more plugged in at LPC, we encourage you to take our core classes and workshops. These are designed to further equip and unleash you as you discover your unique S.H.A.P.E. and fit in ministry.
Listed below are some of our volunteer opportunities, but is certainly not an exhaustive list! For more information about how you can get involved, email volunteers@lifepointelville.com.
Welcome Team
We place great value on our guests and members of our Lifepointe family! This team serves in a variety of ways to ensure that everyone walking through our doors is welcomed and provided with the information they need. Volunteers may serve as greeters or parking attendants, as well as work at the info center or snack table.
Care Team
When someone at Lifepointe is facing a difficult time or is in transition (e.g. is in the hospital, experiences the death of a loved one, has a baby, etc.) this team will send them well wishes and love by visiting, cooking a meal, sending flowers/cards, etc. This team also seeks to encourage church members, volunteers, and staff.
Prayer Team
Prayer is so powerful and awesome! Whenever there is a prayer request, our prayer team is notified and can either pray with someone in person, over the phone, or just pray for them throughout the week. These volunteers also pray throughout the month for upcoming events, church leaders, and members of our church family.
Children’s Ministry
If you love working with infants and children, this is your ministry! Our children’s workers are responsible for providing the safe, nurturing environment for our kids. They seek to show and teach about the love of Christ to each child that walks through our doors. All of our children’s workers must have a background check done by Lifepointe and must have completed our Starting Pointe 101 class. We ask that all teachers also complete our 201 & 301 workshops.
Security Team
These men are responsible for the safety of our kids during the service. A background check & completion of our Starting Pointe 101 class is required.
Youth Ministry
These volunteers work with the 6th-12th graders in a variety of ways, including event chaperones, discussion leaders during the youth service, Bible study leaders, and event hosts. All youth ministry workers must have a background check done by Lifepointe and must have completed our Starting Pointe 101 class. Teachers & Bible study leaders must also complete our 201 & 301 workshops.
Adult Ministry
These volunteers serve as leaders, facilitators, or hosts for our Growth Groups, classes, and workshops. Depending on the role, completion of some or all our core classes & workshops may be required.
Tech Team
Want to learn how to work a sound board or control our lighting system? Then this team is for you!
Music Ministry
Our talented band is such a huge part of the worship portion of our service. We are also looking for volunteers to help lead worship in our children’s and youth ministries. If you have a musical talent, please let us know!
Media & Creative Teams
These teams are responsible for everything from managing the church website, LPC social media pages, creating/editing video, taking pictures at church events, creating props and visual aids for message series, to conducting interviews for blog posts. Depending on the role, completion of Starting Pointe 101 and our 201 & 301 workshops may be required.
Administrative & Events Teams
If you enjoy working behind-the-scenes and are attentive to details, this may be the team for you! Volunteers help create/edit/proofread written materials for the church, plan & coordinate events, update the church database, and support other ministry teams. Depending on the role, completion of Starting Pointe 101 and our 201 & 301 workshops may be required.
Community Ministry
At Lifepointe, we believe that serving extends far beyond the church walls! We partner with the Salvation Army to help serve the homeless in our city. We are also beginning a partnership with Maryhurst, a local agency that serves children and youth (primarily girls) that have experienced abuse or neglect. We are focusing on supporting and encouraging the direct care staff that work there. In our Unleash 301 Workshop we discuss several other ways you can get involved and make a difference in the community.
