Wherever you’re at or whatever your questions, I hope I can provide some clarity and answers.

We believe baptism by immersion is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. It is also an outward expression of your commitment to him and your salvation, demonstrating that you have a personal relationship with Christ. While we do not believe it to be a requirement for salvation, the Bible does command us to be baptized once we have been saved. The New Testament if full of stories of people getting saved and then getting baptized. Thus, we think that everyone who has put their faith in Christ should be baptized by immersion. If you were baptized as a baby or before you truly become a Christ-follower, we encourage you to get baptized again! This is not meant to dishonor your past, but is simply following the Biblical pattern established by Christ.

Baptisms are a beautiful way to show the world the decision we have made and to demonstrate love and obedience to Christ! This is why we make baptisms a party at Lifepointe! We want to celebrate with you and are so excited for you to be moving forward in your faith.

We will be baptizing during the end of each service the week after Easter (April 15th). If you would like to get baptized, please let us know which service you will be attending. Children and youth are welcome to get baptized (with their parent’s permission), though we do request that they speak to one of our children’s or youth workers beforehand (this can happen on Sunday before the baptism).

There will be Easter Egg hunts for the kids after the Saturday night and the Sunday 11:15 services!

Throughout his ministry, Jesus met practical needs of those around him – such as feeding people or healing them from physical ailments. Right now there are a number of practical ways for you to practice impacting your world. On March 24th we’re helping the Salvation Army move into their new facility and preparing the building for use. The following Saturday (March 31st) we’re having a work day at the church to get the building ready for Easter, tackle some maintenance projects, and improve our children’s ministry space.

In light of the recent tornadoes in southern Indiana, volunteers will be needed in the coming weeks and months as clean-up continues and then during the rebuilding stage. You can get involved by making a financial contribution, donating needed items, volunteering your time (to sort donations, clean-up, rebuild, serve food to families & volunteers, take care of administrative needs, etc.), and continuing to pray for those affected.

These are just a few ways you can impact your world this spring! Consider asking God to show you what your next steps may be in putting your faith in action – whether participating in one of the projects listed above, beginning to volunteer at Lifepointe, meeting a known need of someone in your immediate context, serving with your small group, or getting involved with a local agency. The options are endless – it’s up to you to take a step and to allow God to continue his work in you and through you.
