Lifepointe Faith Essentials

We consider these five Faith Essentials to be key steps to living out our mission to Discover Jesus & Go Be Jesus. Our core classes (Starting Pointe, Equip, and Unleash) are designed to further unpack these Essentials and to give you the tools to enact them in your life.

1. Invest and Invite –

Be personally active in helping bring people to Jesus.

Acts 1:8 – But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Colossians 4:5 – Live wisely among those who are not Christians and make the most of every opportunity.

2. Feed Yourself –

Spiritual growth is your personal responsibility. God uses the Bible, prayer, groups, and gatherings to help mature us.

Acts 2:44, 46 – And all the believers met together constantly and shared everything they had.  They worshipped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity.

Colossians 3:2 – Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and thankful heart.

II Timothy 3:16-17 – All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.  It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.  God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

3. Give Biblically –

God invites us to discover the abundance of a generous, obedient life.

Malachi 3:8-10 – “Should people cheat God?  Yet you have cheated me.  But you ask, ‘what do you mean?  When did we ever cheat you?’  You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me.  You are under a curse, for your whole nation has been cheating me.  Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple.  If you do,” says the Lord Almighty, “I will open the windows of heaven for you.  I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in!  Try it!  Let me prove it to you.”

Luke 12:34 – Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will be also.

4. Impact Your World

Jesus challenges us to take opportunities to serve the people directly around us.

Matthew 20:26-28 – But among you it should be quite different.  Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must become your slave.  For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many.

Matthew 22:37-39 – Jesus replied, “ ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important:  ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

5. Multiply the Mission –

On an individual level, recruit someone to serve with you. As a church, we plan to start new churches and campus extensions of Lifepointe.

Mark 16:15 – Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
